Other than its incongruous location on Avenue A, there’s not much to separate Kelly’s from the sports-bar batch. Somehow it’s the official home of the Buffalo Bills and Sabres, Chicago Cubs, and the Wisconsin Badgers, but when the partisans aren’t on the premises, Kelly’s retreats into a placid norm: there are six TVs jammed into the place, plenty of guys doing volunteer commentary, and the beers on tap don’t veer far from the usual suspects (Yuengling, Sierra Nevada, Brooklyn Lager). A jukebox spills out modern rock and country, and there’s a pool table in back and air hockey out front. — Ben Lebeaux
