For several decades now, Killarney Rose has been a go-to financial-district watering hole for suits and locals alike. Part bar and part restaurant, the space has table service and an extensive list of traditional heart-clogging bar foods (calamari, wings, and mozzarella sticks) alongside sandwiches, salads, and burgers. In a cheeky move, happy hour is never at the same time each day; a bartender starts and ends things at his discretion with the sound of a bell. An upstairs space is open during the week, but is usually rented out for private parties on weekends. Beer is served by the half-yard, and live-rock karaoke events are known to take over now and again.
Best of New York: Fun & Nightlife
Cocktails at the movies, a Monday-night bacchanal, and a great rookie-rap show.
