Smack dab between a corner dive and a Mexican takeout joint is a door leading to a lair that’s more Fraggle Rock than rock and roll. Owner Nick Ajdari went to great lengths to reproduce a Roman cave: Stalactites hang from the ceiling, inset candles glimmer on the stone walls, and the fountain’s perimeter doubles as a seating area. Whatever the ancients would have thought of an illuminated waterfall and sheltered nooks for orange leather armchairs, neo-Bacchanalians are digging the scene. You won’t find anyone ordering shrimp risotto at the white-cloth tables on those nights; instead everyone hits the hookah or the dance floor.
