Nestled on the edge of Spanish Harlem, this rustic-style bar offers nice draft choices (eight on tap, including Duvel and Estrella) and vintage cocktails (the scotch and cherry heering Blood and Sand, the gin-based Blue Moon). Popular small plates whipped out from the outdoor kitchen include braised octopus on a bed of panelli beans and dried cranberries, and Sicilian meatballs, made with a house tomato sauce and pine nuts. Roughly the same size as the corner bodega, the bar seats just 28. The interior—a marble bar top, dusk navy-painted walls, and an aluminum-guild ceiling—feels like classic New York.
Picnics with a view, roller-skating nostalgia, and a party for gay headbangers.
