This Irish-Victorian hot spot mixes location, ambience, tasty grub, and a stellar whiskey menu to form an exceptional Flatiron megapub. Named after Lillie Langtry, Ireland’s version of Marilyn Monroe, the bar prides itself on its lush décor, which mixes authenticity—the spectacular carved-wood bar comes from an old mansion in Belfast—with mild cheesiness—the textured walls and marble fireplaces are lovely, the faux hunting prints less so. The crowd varies depending on when you go—weeknights are packed with heavily sauced office dwellers, while weekends are soccer fanatics during the day, hard-core drinkers and well-dressed scenesters at night. The kitchen serves till 2am, meaning you can soak up all that Guinness and single malt with some late-night cottage pie.
BrunchBrunch is available on the weekends from 11am to 4pm. Fifteen dollars will get you an entree and the choice of a mimosa, bloody mary, or a pint of anything on tap.
