"Work is the curse of the drinking class," declares the wall at Lincoln Park via Oscar Wilde. The patrons do their best to do the thought justice, from crusty vets cursing the Mets under their breath to ex-state-school kids rocking Birkenstocks and the Golden Tee. Burnt-orange walls and Sailor-Jerry-tattoo nautical artwork keep the décor decidedly non-dumpy, but Lincoln Park is really a dive under that respectable neighborhood bar sheen. The off-kilter mug shots plastered behind the bar—James Brown, Andre the Giant, Harrison Ford complete with black eye—are more in tune with this bar's slurry vibe.
Picnics with a view, roller-skating nostalgia, and a party for gay headbangers.
