On first glance, Loki looks to be a standard-issue corner pub: hickory-toned interior, long wooden bar with Harp and Guinness on tap, color TVs entertaining solo drinkers with the night's game. But venture further inside and you'll wonder if you've stumbled into a different establishment altogether. A pool table and red-velvet curtains separate the bar—and the genial, beer-drinking guys standing around it—from a back lounge populated by cocktail-sippers reclining on overstuffed couches and brocaded wingback chairs. Schizophrenic? Sure. Still, it suits the Slope's needs nicely, as evidenced by the loyal crowd of locals stopping in for after-work pints or for a touch-of-glam evening out when they don't feel like braving the commute to Soho.
