Incongruously placed to the left of the stairwell at 87 Ludlow is this off-the-main-drag LES nightspot. The bar is a horseshoe, with a very narrow bar area (perfect for fitting in all the skinny girls and guys who couldn’t get into Chloe 81 next door) leading into a refreshingly wider back area. Those who actually manage to squeeze their way all the way to the back find a dark vista filled with candlelight, low leather seating, and the main dance floor, complete with disco ball. The right arm of the space finishes off the horseshoe shape with a narrow dance-floor extension, ending at the eerily blue-lit D.J. booth. With the exception of Tuesday's locals’ acoustic night, tunes are provided from said booth by a rotating gaggle of spinners. Two flat-screens hanging above the granite bar screen random horror flicks—or, even better, your own DVD submissions. Saturday’s Good Times With Good Times Crews dance party dusts off those impeccable old-school classics.
