No frat-boy wonderland here—instead, Manhattan Lounge promises downtown chic without the cab fare. Yes, a velvet rope drapes the doorway, but once inside, the welcome is as warm as the blue-lit space is cool. Martini-sipping twenty- and thirtysomethings slink around to the sleek oval bartop or perch on the accompanying stools (each engraved with an "M"), while Page-Six names looking to chat (or canoodle) in private follow the trail of blue pendant lights to the plush sofas in the spacious back room. Wherever you sit, owner Michael Andrews has crafted, what he likes to call his "everlasting cocktail party."
