This meticulously designed Lower East Side bar from the owners of nearby Fat Baby makes the most of its roomy layout by offering tons of built-in wooden benches and tables—making the space a great bet for groups, even on the neighborhood’s perpetually overrun on weekend nights. Though the bar does offer Lone Star beer and rib-sticking fare—macaroni and cheese, wings—at a premium, the vibe is only somewhat that of a down-home country spot: Think Rodeo Bar, but filtered through a sleek Ian Schrager lens. The cheesy but strangely appealing heart of it all? A giant cordoned-off mechanical bull that’s already seen its fair share of nip slips, courtesy of the scantily clad barflies sauced enough to fork over $10 ($5 on weekdays) to try their luck.
