While this Indian-themed lounge's location in the shadow of the Empire State Building is convenient for one skyscraper’s happy hour, it also serves as a swank nightspot for a well-dressed, mostly Indian crowd later on. Despite the lack of a cover, a bouncer ushers partiers through a sleek, silver-walled entryway that opens into a spacious area adorned with silver beaded curtains. Inside, older professionals seated on oversized grey and beige banquettes nosh on samosas and paneer tikka (diced Indian cheese marinated in yogurt and spices). At the color-changing bar, bartenders serve up mango and lychee Mayatinis. Those with money to burn order bottle service from an extensive list of options including a variety of wines, cognac, and whiskey, while the DJ spins tunes ranging from reggaeton to rap, hip hop and R&B. — Alyssa Rashbaum
