Have you ever spent any significant time at the bar of an Applebee's Neighborhood Grill? McAnn's, founded in 1945, is kind of like that. The walls are half red/half shiny decoupaged orange with a hodgepodge décor (like posters advertising the London Tube and Little Shop of Horrors, a framed picture of "Luke," and the barrel-chested centaur statuette located on the bar top). There are high tables in the front and low ones in the back, and four sports-showin' TVs over the bar. The beer selection is generic and the cocktails are a bit gross-sounding (the Raz-mopolitan, Tara's Holiday). The upstairs is a wood-paneled lounge that could easily masquerade as a dorm common room, with squishy mismatched couches, a TV, and a dart board.
Picnics with a view, roller-skating nostalgia, and a party for gay headbangers.
