More of a neighborhood watering hole than a generic Irish sports pub, McCoy's can be a nice, unassuming place to grab a $5 beer. We make this statement fully aware that the bar is equipped with 9 TVs—a heck of a lot considering the intimate space—and that pennants and sports collectibles cover a good portion of the walls. But the back has several rickety booths, more than a few strangely endearing signs with well-worn colloquialisms about nagging wives and the necessities of stiff drinks, and a jukebox with a surprisingly good selection, including the Pogues and the Pixies and nary a Bob Marley *Legend* CD in sight.
Best of New York: Fun & Nightlife
Picnics with a view, roller-skating nostalgia, and a party for gay headbangers.
