The rowdy M.J. Armstrong’s attracts a college-age crowd with the lure of Tuesday-night trivia, $1 drafts on Wednesdays, and seventeen screens plastered with various local, national, and collegiate sporting events. Lodged on an otherwise quiet corner of First Avenue just across from Stuy Town, M.J.’s features a long bar on its main floor and a spacious seating area good for large groups. The basement holds another bar and an open area that threatens to become an impromptu dance floor at a moment’s notice.
