Monkey light fixtures, monkeys crawling over the elaborate wallpaper.... Great ape! The simian theme even extends to the drink menu. Back in your grandparents' day, this swank lounge hosted risqué singers and scandalous entertainment. Then it fell into disrepair, for years barely surviving as a sanctuary for intrepid slurrealists. Now, renovated and priced out of most drinkers' pocketbooks, it endures mainly as a luxurious distraction—or as a sure bet to impress dates with a soft spot for primates.
