While you may have a hard time picturing J. Pierpont Morgan kicking back to some chill house music in one of Morgans' velvety lounge chairs, this subterranean alcove is certainly comfortable enough for today's aspiring fat cats. While it's not huge on square footage, Morgans' single room (downstairs from Morgans Hotel) feels more cozy than small, with dim lighting from votive candles and miniature chandeliers bouncing around rococo-looking mirrors and a shiny, teal bar. Plenty of room on love seats and a sprawling recessed couch make this an excellent pick for an amorous encounter and well-conceived drinks. — James Wolf
