This traditional Irish pub in the midst of Forest Hill’s emerging nightlife strip caters to youth, with an XM Jukebox and beer pong. Owner/namesake/expatriate Declan Morrison, an avid Jets fan who proudly displays his collection of sports memorabilia (autographed photos of Robin Ventura, Sammy Sosa, David Wright, and the like), also gregariously tends bar, waits on tables, dispenses restaurant advice, and belts tunes on Karaoke Sunday. The rest of the weekend he books top 40 D.J.s and local pop-rock bands. The softly-lit back room, decorated with framed photos of 1930s horse races and paintings of pub scenes from the old country, hosts casual games of pool all week long.
Best of New York: Fun & Nightlife
Cocktails at the movies, a Monday-night bacchanal, and a great rookie-rap show.
