Profile
Murphy's Tavern is a pub on the tip of Manhattan perennially packed with an enthusiastic after-work crowd. The menu features more bar food than actual pub fare; shepherd's pie is one of the few Irish items offered. Although the service is fast, come at lunchtime if you’re looking to eat—at around five, the bar starts to fill up fast with bankers and stockbrokers looking to take advantage of the drink specials. Murphy's has a large upstairs area with a second bar available for parties, so for a large-enough crowd you have the option for an open bar and specific food. For the regular crowd, it’s hard to beat the heavily fried onion rings and the eclectically packed jukebox.
