Open since 1974 and housed in a turn-of-the-century townhouse that once belonged to actress Maud Adams, this Irish pub attracts a banker/lawyer crowd at lunch and for early happy hour. A prix fixe menu is served at dinner, including classics like chicken pot pie. Private event space is available upstairs and downstairs; corporate parties are a common occurrence. One notable quirk: O’Casey’s is closed for most of the weekend, but it opens up on Saturday nights from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. to host BBW singles parties (that’s Big Black Women, for the uninitiated).
Best of New York: Fun & Nightlife
Cocktails at the movies, a Monday-night bacchanal, and a great rookie-rap show.
