For sports lovers and beer guzzlers, finding this subterranean sports bar and game emporium is like the Goonies discovering One-Eyed-Willie’s treasure-filled ship. At the base of the entrance, the waiter’s service station hits you with a waft of Buffalo wings. Down a first set of stairs is the neon-blue-lit bar with wall-mounted flat-screens, and seven enormous projector screens broadcast game coverage all day long. Horseshoe-shaped booths line the perimeter where attentive cocktail waitresses (potentially hired by a pageant judge) sweep by with trays of pint glasses filled with one of 24 beers on tap. Down another set of stairs lies the immense game room—30 pool tables, six Ping-Pong tables, two mini bowling lanes, three air hockey tables and an assortment of other flashing, whirring arcade games. And of course, more flat-screens—two dozen of them, easily. The shock of reality can be unpleasant when exiting such a dreamlike cavern. Fortunately, Ocean’s 8 is open late every night.

Cocktails at the movies, a Monday-night bacchanal, and a great rookie-rap show.
