Nestled in the basement of the warehouse-like Comix, Ochi's Lounge seeks to elevate the underground comedy experience. Cream-colored walls with raised gold squares and attractive seats make for one of the swankest comedy clubs in the city (which ultimately means it looks like nothing so much as a mid-level hotel bar). All the shows at Ochi's are without cover charge and, refreshingly, the bar and kitchen aren't out to gouge you on the one-item minimum: A draft beer and a burger will run you less than twenty bucks. The talent is some of the best New York's indie scene has to offer, including soon-to-break-through comics like Sara Benincasa, Sean Donnelly, and Mo Diggs. — Leila Cohan
