Profile

When this boisterous sister establishment of Down the Hatch is in full swing, all that’s missing to make a Girls Gone Wild video is a hand-held camera. Tiffany lamps, a mosaic tile floor, and a bar imported from Italy may imply gentlemanly sophistication but beer funnels, shotguns, and beer pong tables tell a decidedly different story, one which the management tries to keep from getting too outrageous by banning do-rags and wifebeaters. It’s a half-hearted effort. As the banners hanging from the balcony testify, many nights ladies toss back anything they please for a couple dollars; happy-hour pitchers cost lest than your typical draft. (Prices rise by the hour, so drink quickly). Early in the week, the scene turns sedate as fake-ID hopefuls disappear in favor of regulars taking in ballgames on flat screens or engaging in foosball games to the accompaniment of an AC/DC-heavy jukebox.
