Striped-oxford and crisp jeans wearers flock to this turntable lounge located just across from Chelsea Piers to engage in New York's other favorite indoor sport: profiling and posing. The décor's clean lines were inspired by Ian Schrager: The multi-grain wood-paneled walls and ceiling coupled with the concrete-and-steel bar give the impression of being in the cabin of the trendiest boat on (but without a clear view of) the Hudson. Dancers groove under the watchful eye of the night's resident, guest, or open-turntable DJ spinning hip-hop, house, the occasional top-40 and R&B. Floor-to-ceiling windows that wrap around the bar allow wallflowers to people-watch as they sip one of the bar's special fruit fusion concoctions, such as the Mango Jack (mango, lime soda, and Jack Daniels).
Best of New York: Nightlife
Custom-made cocktails, celebrity talent shows, and the new Beatrice on the block.
