For more than 25 years, the bar at Peter's has been a laid-back gathering place for stagehands, musicians, and actors from both ABC's nearby studios and Lincoln Center. The bar faces a long, hand-painted mural of tasteful female nudes, echoing the equally artistic black-and-white photographs hung throughout the room. Beer and wine are the favored libations, with about a dozen suds offered in bottles and on tap and an equal number of wines by the glass. On the weekend, tourists and Avery Fisher ticket holders drop by, upping the cocktail quotient and turning up the jukebox. And since Peter's doubles as a restaurant, patrons can order anything from the menu, from pub grub like burgers and wings to pastas and grilled entrées. — Michael Anstendig
