The Pourhouse has a happy hour so long it might be called ecstatic with insanely cheap drinks the rest of the time. But imbibing isn't the only thing on the agenda at this roomy, broken-in dive. Other diversions? A pool table, a jukebox filled with classic rock esoterica, an addictive trivia game, and an Extreme Hunting arcade station. Occasionally, Scrabble tournaments and performances by local bands take place in the cavernous back room, where you can sit on cozy, overstuffed thrift-store furniture and ponder a truly bizarre mural that seems to have something to do with racial harmony, or possibly with quitting smoking. The crowd ranges from young pups to old farts, from bookish corner-hiders to loud pool brawlers, most of whom seem like regulars. After an ecstatic afternoon or two, any barfly might be tempted to join their ranks.
