This staple of the Chelsea club strip may as well have "bring us your gelled, your stiletto-ed, and your SUV-ed" emblazoned out front. The megaclub, which can safely house over 800 bodies, was once Quo, then split into Retox Rock Bar and Myst. Now redone and recombined, the space has a touch of bordello, with damask wallpaper, black chain “curtains” separating the semi-circular banquettes, and sultry red lighting, all surrounding a D.J. booth rising like Mount Sinai from the center of the room. The interior offers more of a lounge-y feel than your average Chelsea monolith—though the sound system pumps it out just as loud. Fridays are your best bet for a celebrity guest D.J. (Jazzy Jeff and D.J. AM spun for the club’s opening weekend), and the standard Chelsea club rules—thick-necked doormen, snooty bottle waitresses, and hefty price tags on anything liquid—apply.
