Profile

This venue is closed.

The new owners of the club formerly known as the Cooler simply slapped on some fresh red paint and re-opened for business. Operating more as an intimate performance venue than as a bar or lounge, Rare plays host to everything from art showcases to trendy rock shows to foot-stomping drum-and-bass weeklies. Drinks are on the expensive side, but the music-loving crowd heads here more for the bands than for the booze. Worn-out patrons in need of a break can relax on comfy couches in the room adjacent to the small stage or in the club’s spacious back rooms. The crowd depends entirely upon the night’s entertainment, so it’s best to call in advance to inquire about the lineup.
