Profile

When you walk into Red Rock West you think, "I might get my ass kicked in this place"—not a sentiment many New York City bars inspire these days. Red Rock is a shrine to all things white trash, and the early evening patrons aren't acting. Later, when the place fills up, it becomes a hillbilly burlesque show with dancing barmaids spitting shots into customers' mouths. Sure, some of the bar-stomping routines seem like they were lifted directly from the movie named after Red Rock's East Village rival (you know the one), but by the end of the night you'll be singing "Gimme Three Steps" along with every other guy in the place.

Extra

Bartenders have the howling hordes eating out of their hands and, occasionally, drinking out of their navels.

Red Rock West has been on my radar for a while, and it was well worth the wait. There was a great mix of girl to guy ratio, an easy door, and sandwiched between two other clubs with lines. The bartenders are ridiculously fun and the crowd is insane. Its like Vegas in NYC. Great for girls or guys night out and groups. Bachelor and Bacherlorette parties start or end your night there.

Blast for girls, poor guys

I had a fantastic time at RRW when I visited my friend for the 1st time in NYC. The barqueens got me utterly polluted, didn't rip me off (I think that must only happen to you menfolk) and I felt very safe... I danced on the bar, too. My husband was not with me, but he appreciated the pics I took of the hotties serving those killer drinks. The perfect end to my first, albeit drunken night in NYC.
