Profile

This venue is closed.

Set on a block where one might feel comfortable urinating against a building, this lower-Manhattan lounge is an ennui-busting oasis. Sharply dressed Latino 30-somethings gravitate from all parts of the city to settle into the cozy banquettes and plush armchairs while DJs spin Latin-infused reggae, hip-hop, and merengue. Revelers here have a proclivity for busting a dance move at the drop of a record needle, especially during the hot and heavy reggaeton night or when owner Eddie Batiz spins Latin-infused house on the weekends. The long, narrow two-floor space, illuminated with candles and soft, moody colored lights, fills to capacity on Friday and Saturday nights, proving that this beloved lounge transcends its role as an after work drinking spot. Beer is served in plastic cups; the wine selection is above average; the cocktails rule.
