Once the ice officially melts, the skating rink at Rockefeller Center turns into an attraction that's nearly as alluring: an outdoor cocktail bar that whips up frozen, fresh strawberry daiquiris and piña coladas. The submerged, cabana-like setting—a canopy-covered, four-sided bar surrounded by umbrella-topped tables and topped off by the Prometheus Fountain—proves just as magnetic for upbeat, business-casual midtowners as for European tourists. Along with the aforementioned daiquiris served in glasses resembling tall brandy snifters, the bar serves the obligatory martinis (apple, mango, and white cranberry) as well as margaritas, mojitos, and a cooler that's a piquant blend of gin and fresh lemonade. The smart, nightly drink specials, running $4 and $6, undoubtedly help lure in the after-work set, while the menu of burgers, lobster rolls, steaks and salads is geared more toward sight-seers. — Karen Hudes

The bar serves 60 wines by the bottle and 10 by the glass, among them a sparkling Baby Piper. Rink Bar shares the menu of the Rock Center Café, and also adjoins The Sea Grill.
