This small, understated wine bar is the sister location of Hell’s Kitchen’s popular Riposo 46. Decked out with exposed brick, wall sconces, and hanging lamps, the vibe here is all about flickering atmospherics. Large parties should best congregate elsewhere, as the limited space with few tables grows louder and more tightly packed as the night wears on. The approachable Italian wine list is a standout, with over 40 bottles, with 25 offered by the glass. As for food, you won’t find 46’s menu of rich Italian staples, but tapas, skirt steaks, and flatbread pizzas are satisfying top sellers. — Patrick Coffee
