Ritz-Carlton New York, Battery Park
|
This venue is closed.
The bar within Battery Park’s waterfront Ritz-Carlton isn’t just for traveling businessmen and tourists. Fourteen stories above Battery Park, the wood-paneled interior customary to hotel bars provides windows a-plenty overlooking New York Harbor. Although sultry enough scenery for some, the real action (during the summer, at least) is outside on the balcony, where the panoramic view spans from Brooklyn to Jersey, with that famous torch-baring lady smack dab in-between. Wall Street workers and well-dressed hotel guests commune at tall patio tables, enjoying the magic hour reverie, and tumblers filled with pricy specialty drinks such as the potent “Battery Park Punch” (rum, orange and pineapple juice and strawberry puree) enhance the already smooth mood. A seasonal raw bar and the signature selection of eclectic, regionally themed bite-sized dishes served on tiers of small plates offer even more incentive to stay past sunset.
ExtraThe balcony is only open during the summer and closes at 10 p.m.
