Profile

Those huge jars of liquid behind the bar are not science experiments; they're vats of delicious, ferocious homemade flavored vodka. One shot, served by the lovely bartendress, will knock you off your barstool. After two, you'll be cheering the end of the Cold War with the rest of the talkative Russians downing shots at the curved bar and front banquettes, or dining on caviar-topped blinis at the dimly-lit tables in back. With no windows, live piano music and eccentric regulars—like the cabaret singer who frequently shares her version of Those Were the Days—RVR makes it easy to get lost in the fun-house atmosphere.

God Bless Russia

I visited the Russian Vodka Room with a Russian friend of mine, and had an awesome experience (but I'd feel just as comfortable going with non-Russians). We set a reservation for two at 8:00 pm on a Saturday with no problem, and the table was waiting for us when we got there. Every person we interacted with at the restaurant was extremely pleasant and attentive. The crowd was a mix of Russian and American, and got louder and happier as the evening went on. The food was delicious and comforting, and I'm still thinking about how awesome the peach/apricot infused vodka was. I left pleasantly drunk and ready to book a one way ticket to Moscow. I love this place!!!

Excellent In Every Way

My date took me to RVR for our 1st date. We drank excellent martinis and infused vodkas in a lively yet intimate atmosphere. The barmaid was attentive but not overbearing. The music, the lights, the company created the perfect setting. I definitely recommend RVR. But be careful - you may end up falling for a Russian!
