Rusty Knot, a nautically themed bar on the very Western edge of the city, is a "dive" as imagined by the Spotted Pig’s Ken Friedman and Freemans’ Taavo Somer. The unconventional kitchen offerings—home-made spicy pickles, a chicken-liver-and-bacon sandwich with red-onion marmalade, meat pies with sweetbreads—and the prominent-nightlife-players involved may seem out of place, but Baca swears this is a true neighborhood joint: "We’ve got a 99-cent beer and $3 cans—it’s a bar bar." — Robin Raisfeld and Rob Patronite

If you want to be harassed, and have your rights violated then by all means go! My friends and I were there 20 min when the bouncer came up to me to inform me that "You need to be buying and drinking alcohol because this is a bar and water ainÂ’t gonna fly so if your not drinking then you need to BOUNCE!" He repeated his threats to my girlfriend who was10 ft away. All our friends had drinks; we chose not to drink because we were both fighting a cold. This was a joint effort btw the bartender, the desperate cocktail waitress, and the roid infused bouncer! All that muscle and no brains? Damn shame, a mind is really a terrible thing to waste (that is if you have one!). To harass woman who did nothing wrong except be responsible and try to be healthy while enjoying the company of friends. For what? A couple bucks in tips? Come on! I know it's a recession and all, but 2 bucks is really worth violating someone's civil liberties these days?

My Friend and I BOTH were OVER charged in One Week!

I went to Rusty Knot to try a new bar out since Slims sucks lately but my friend warned me that after she left the other day they charged her like $30 on her card (her tab was $10.) So the next day I checked my bank account and sure enough they charged me $40 over my bill. I signed my receipt and it was right so why am I being charged $54!? (I did NOT drink $54 worth of beer!) Apparently they do this a lot. WATCH OUT!
