Andrew W.K., the late-nineties-party-starter turned record-producer/motivational-speaker/general-jack-of-all-trades, is only one of the owners of Santos Party House, but his playful spirit pervades the place. The bi-level club packs a fierce 150,000 watt sound system, and lets almost nothing get in the way of that wondrous noise: both the upstairs and the smaller downstairs levels come equipped with little more than stages, disco balls, black-paint, and silly, happy slogans ("Thank you for partying!” "You have a beautiful face!”) Almost nightly, the place plays host to a fevered, wonderfully diverse batch of high-energy performers and DJs, whether it’s the Que Bajo party kicking out the choicest Latin American party jams or Mr. W.K. himself on the decks or on the mic.
Best of New York: Fun & Nightlife
Picnics with a view, roller-skating nostalgia, and a party for gay headbangers.
