This music-friendly bar is the brainchild of Rob Sacher, former owner of the now-defunct indie-rock staple Luna Lounge. Large, candy-colored globe lights hang over the long wooden bar, and a glass mosaic and an old-fashioned register sit behind it; there are also six wooden booths to pile into. But other than the three pinball machines up front, the rest of the space is wide open to dance along to the tunes: Tracks from Sacher’s carefully curated iPod mix vary from rock numbers to Motown hits favored by the older locals. Affordable strong-pour cocktails, or beer from their rotating selection of bottles, encourage wallflowers to move along to the beat.
Picnics with a view, roller-skating nostalgia, and a party for gay headbangers.
