No less than 48 satellite TVs, two types of frozen margaritas, and one late-night kitchen keep the baseball capped and unkempt oxford wearers entertained at this mega-sports bar. In high-backed dark-green leather banquettes, sports fanatics shift vacant stares from beer pints resting on checkered tableclothes to inescapable televisions hanging from the ceiling, behind the bar, or on the grimy nautical-papered walls. During the busy football season, the picnic tables in the back room, which also houses a pool table and a dartboard, are rearranged to allow the hungry hordes to follow the Giants, the Jets, and the NCAA matches in one of five different "sound zones." Everyone's encouraged to stay for typical bar fare after the post-game show; there's a variety of sandwiches on the menu but it's the Buffalo wings that have generated the most serious following.
Best of New York: Fun & Nightlife
Cocktails at the movies, a Monday-night bacchanal, and a great rookie-rap show.
