If Freemans and the Lodge make up one extreme of the hip cabin-in-the-woods ethos, Ski Bar—“Bay Ridge’s House of 50 Beers”—embodies the exact opposite. Here, the ski concept only goes as far as a crossed pair hanging on the white walls, snowboards suspended from the ceiling, and the words “Ski Dudes” and “Ski Babes” painted above the corresponding bathroom doors. Digest the tiny gondolas perched above those bathrooms—skeletons inside, dressed like skiers—and embrace the camp. It’ll make the Fallout Boy blasting on the digital jukebox and the Slushies (and, yes, an extensive but uninspired beer list) and copious amounts of Jägermeister served here go down a lot smoother. — Stephen Dougherty
