This sleek, modern bar inside the Smyth Tribeca—the boutique Thompson Hotel chain’s latest addition—is a low-key adjunct to the lobby, lined with cozy, leather-upholstered nooks ideal for quiet conversation. The space has a bit of a vintage vibe to it: Squint, with cocktail in hand, and you might just feel like you're in Don Draper's corner office. The well-rounded wine list is augmented by a small selection of festive cocktails, including the St. Strop's pineapple-basil daquiri and Le Gorille (sake, vodka, cucumber, yuzu). The kitchen is open all day, serving breakfast and an extensive menu of lighter fare, including tuna tartare and a niçoise salad.
Best of New York: Fun & Nightlife
Cocktails at the movies, a Monday-night bacchanal, and a great rookie-rap show.
