Named for the original Guinness brewery in Dublin, this Upper West Side Irish pub is the perfect spot for a drink after a visit to the Museum of Natural History. The drink selection is nothing special; the real draw is the space, boasting entirely windowed front and side walls. In addition to several large booths, there are candlelit tables that make it as romantic as an Irish pub can be. There is an upstairs private nook set off with dark polished wooden beams and a flat-screen TV, for, uh, romantic soccer-viewing parties. There are two more flat screens over the bar, nestled between infamous quotes from the Irish-in-spirit Ernest Hemingway and Frank Sinatra about, yes, drinking.
