This gleaming addition to the East Village (taking over the space where Brian McNally's ill-fated Smith left off) mixes French wines with punk rock and comes up with good-looking grunge. Filled with deep, enameled-red booths and ironic Brady Bunch-era wallpaper, it's a place where the Strokes might take their mothersprovided Mom's up for drinks like the Big Red, a white-trash variation of Sangria (vanilla vodka, red wine, and juices).
Best of New York: Fun & Nightlife
Cocktails at the movies, a Monday-night bacchanal, and a great rookie-rap show.
