This Murray Hill watering hole has something of a fishing-lodge décor — ram horns dangle above the burnished copper bar and charcoal drawings of writhing bass hang on the stone-clad walls. Stone Creek doesn’t come on too strong, however, the spot is mercifully free of taxidermic critters and other faux-rustic accoutrements. Ultimately, it’s the type of place where patrons — especially loud, loosened-tie, happy-hour types — are more interested in the extensive app menu (tasty, booze-soaking standards) than the tables fashioned out of five-inch-thick tree-trunk slices. But creature comforts abound: There are comfy seats, NFL games on Sundays, and fruity low-brow cocktails that taste better than they sound.
