At this freestanding ranch-style structure by the shore, barrel-chested locals with shaved heads—many of them firemen, as a 9/11 photo memorial testifies—pound domestic beers and frozen drinks or gather round footprint- and shamrock-shaped tables for burgers, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, or heroes. Sure, this place has the requisite dartboard, Golden Tee machine, foosball table, and Ms. Pacman console, but the real recreation occurs outside on the beach where there’s horseshoes on Fridays and volleyball Tuesdays through Thursdays—weather permitting. If you’re not up for joining the bar softball team, the coed sport of cruising can be practiced on a patio of picnic tables. Tanned and toned, blonde and burly, the competition is friendly but serious.Parking Advice
There is a dearth of public parking in Breezy Point, and the town doesn’t kid around when it comes to towing so try your best to finagle a temporary pass from the security station at the town gates.
Picnics with a view, roller-skating nostalgia, and a party for gay headbangers.
