Supercore is a triple threat: a cozy café, a classy bar with a Japanese motif, and a breezy outdoor dining spot, all rolled into one. The front is pure Williamsburg coffeehouse, packed with lone hipsters ignoring their laptops as they sip green-tea lattes and stare out the front windows. The back gives way to the sleek bar with modern wood panels, breezy electronica, sake, and Japanese comfort food. (The peppery aroma from the long-simmered Japanese-curry beef stew often drifts to the very top of the high ceilings.) The patio boasts communal wooden tables shaded by bamboo foliage and pale-gray parasols, illuminated by strands of white garden lights; an idyllic summer locale for sipping sangria and munching on fresh tofu salad.
