The hook at Superdive is, first and foremost, the keg service: You can order a standard-selection beer in either quarter-, half-, or full-size, which is brought to your table in a rolling iced keg holder; reservations are also taken ahead of time (necessary for Hofbrau and the like) and help get you in on a busy Friday night. You can probably guess the rest: Groups of undergrads in Ed Hardy T-shirts and Juicy velour dresses line up at one of the long blonde counters for a round of flip cup, or play a heated game of quarters in one of the red brocade banquettes. Pairs of legs are held up for keg stands, and sing-alongs to AC/DC and Guns N’ Roses hits are de rigueur. Lemon-drop shots and Jack and Cokes served from the bar supplement the beer. There’s also a flat-screen TV, a dartboard, and music that’s patron-controlled from a laptop—or if you’re feeling so inclined, a drum set in the back corner.
Best of New York: Fun & Nightlife
Cocktails at the movies, a Monday-night bacchanal, and a great rookie-rap show.
