The handsome space that once belonged to unruly scene haven Annex has been transformed into an aseptic, multi-level nightclub with an eagerness to please. Tammany Hall is whatever you want it to be; its various identities include but are not limited to indie-rock venue, club-kid dance party, vintage speakeasy, and slick bottle-service lounge. The labyrinthine layout lends itself to exploration, but most people tend to stick to a selected station. The large ground-level bar boasts the main stage, a wide range of taps, and access to sliders from the kitchen. A staircase near the back leads to a swinging underground hangout, complete with D.J. booth, dance floor, and Prohibition-style bar. The upstairs level is a velvet nest offering a bird's-eye view of the ground-floor action. Plan your intra-club travels strategically and you can have a night on the town without ever leaving the building.
Picnics with a view, roller-skating nostalgia, and a party for gay headbangers.
