Profile
1020 is a quintessential non-frat college bar with its low prices and daily happy hour luring Columbia upperclassmen eager to split their time between Psych 101 brush-ups and a game of pool or darts. Three televisions, one of them a super-sized flat-screen that all but covers the back wall, compete with the view of the adjacent Cathedral of St. John the Divine—espied from the front of the long bar. When school's out (for summer or winter/spring break) and the crowd eases, the brainstorming in the diner-style booths is more likely to be center around the Boston Red Sox, the in-house favorites.
ExtraA darts league meets on Monday nights.

Best of NY: Nightlife
From a great first-date bar to the hands-down best martini in New York City.
