T.G. Whitney’s shares initials with T.G.I. Friday’s and also a good amount of that chain’s canned-fun atmosphere, from the “Muchos Nachos” on its menu to a sponsored “booze cruise.” A bar runs along one side of the brick-alley interior and ends in an open space where buttoned-up youngsters belt out karaoke hits. A place on the second floor is reserved for private parties, often corporate affairs thrown by the likes of KPMG, Citigroup, and various law firms. Beware of sudden infusions of an even drunker crowd—the bar is a popular pub-crawl pit stop.
