When the official signage for a bar is a Venn diagram of a baseball, a basketball and a football, make no mistake that you’re walking into a sports mecca. A hockey net tucked away behind booths, sleek table tops shaped like hockey sticks, and general sports paraphernalia hanging next to a wall-sized chalk mural of cheap beer specials seals the deal. With high ceilings and an arched hallway leading to a back game room, there’s plenty of room for curvy wall booth seating and high tables and stools. There are also more TVs facing every direction, evoking the same upward gazing and painful blinking that Times Square does on a clear night. There are only a few beers on tap, but with a full bar as well as a more varied beer selection inside specials like cheap Sixpoint buckets and $3 can options, nary a complaint is heard. Choose a snack from a pile of delivery menus or bring in whatever you like because, as the varied crowd seated around the bar (the ones shielding their eyes from the brightness of the TVs on high) lets you know, this is more than a sports bar it’s a neighborhood hangout.
