Given that Broadway has long since succumbed to $100+ ticket prices, it makes sense that the Lambs Club Bar—the upstairs counterpart to the gilded new Geoffrey Zakarian restaurant near Times Square—would similarly break the bank. But the Sasha Petraske-designed cocktails in this Gotham Art Deco-inspired drink palace are worth the bill—especially if your company is picking up the tab. An Old Fashioned that could bring Don Draper to his knees comes mixed by a white-jacketed bartender, with a hand-carved sphere of ice the size of the Hope Diamond. The Lambs Cup, the Raspberry Fix—Petraske’s cocktails aren’t drinks, they’re time machines to a more glamorous era, and the best way to start a night in the theater.
